4 Ice Creams - Art Print

The inspiration for this painting came from a gentleman called Peter Elkins. Just setting the scene here, my house on Hayling Island has a sea wall which every year we paint on, underwater scenes etc just a lovely past time to while away a hot summers day. My patio windows were wide open, and my house always looks full of life. The seafront is a place that you woul find cafes and ice cream shops. Anyway, Peter mistook my house for such a place. He walked up the path brandishing a £20 note shouting “4 ice creams please” this was for him, his wife and 2 friends. I wished I had some in the freezer I would have gladly given them to him. Any way from here we struck up a lovely friendship and every year he would send me a Christmas Card, but with no return address.  Eventually we caught up at my studio at The Hotwalls in Old Portsmouth and here we exchanged emails and cards! This was painted for him and presented to him which he was thrilled about. Unfortunately, Peter died a couple of years ago, but we had a lovely friendship to the end and this is dedicated to his memory.
