I had always wanted to paint these magnificent birds the cormorant! Whilst away in Mevagissey in Cornwall we spied these magnificent birds in the harbour on the rocks sunning themselves with their huge wings outstretched!

I do see these in Hayling Island, but our coastline has groynes instead of rocks, they are often seen at Sandy Point on Hayling Island stretching their wings on the channel markers!

I had a competition on Facebook to name this painting and this was chosen from a fair few names!
