This was my first ever commissioned piece!

Commissioned by a couple on Hayling Island, I visited their home to have a feel of their place where this was going to be hanging and to hear their ideas. the brief was for something colourful and bright but they ideally wanted deckchairs. However I felt this was overdone by many artists at this time and although beach huts have been too, this contemporary  feel of every beach hut being the same but different colours suited their newly refurbished kitchen diner, which had a contemporary design. Not forgetting the pink seagulls in a row on the groynes.

They were happy to let have free choice on the colours as this is what they like about my work but they did want me to match the red of their tiles.

This couple have subsequently added to their collection by installing a Splash back behind their Aga which is of the Lobster, named fondly as the Lompster.
