Birds On A Groyne - Art Print

This was my very first painting! My inspiration was from a photograph I took from the back of my house on Hayling Island Beach. The birds were just sitting there, Birds on a Groyne overlooking the Solent.

So before I finalised on this style I was exploring different ways to paint this photograph. I embarked on my usual style with plenty of texture and colour, but it didn't do it justice as this was a strikingly simplistic photo and I wanted to depict this. After many months and inspirational digging from the depths of my studies, I decided to create block colours and to separate these with black lines to enhance the colours.

This I believe worked and my journey began!
