Coming Out - Hermit Crab - Art Print

Everyone loves the cuteness of these little hermit crabs traveling with their homes on their back. The inspiration comes from a holiday in Teignmouth during the opening times of The worldwide pandemic of Covid. We ended up on a short break in Devon and namely Teignmouth where on the beautiful red sandy beaches we came across these little crabs. This one of course was a huge painting measuring 150cm by 120cm. Aptly named due to the situation, coming out after Covid!
I have painted a couple of crabs recently and they have sold instantly!  I wanted to bring another one to my “Beside The Sea” exhibition and thought of these lovely little crabs that carry their homes with them. In a year like last year our homes are very special to us and although we may fill them with all sorts of things our homes represent our personalities and this little chap just makes me smile with his simplistic home on his back. Just as I felt when I used to travel around the UK in my motorhome gathering photos and inspiration of places and things to paint. Simplicity sometimes really is the key to a chilled environment.
