Gold Finger Original

Inspiration

This original was created for my "Beside the Sea" exhibition.... I started to look beneath the waves, and this was one of the many paintings I created below the surface of the water. I think that Octopuses can look very unfriendly, so I wanted to make this one look humble and inoffensive, so I created an expression on the eyes with just a line! The original was painted in gold acrylic so is a superb piece of reflective light on a very dark background. 
Who doesn’t love a lavishly gold painting flashing at them from their lounge at home? I was exploring the contrasting colours of kitchen units and handles as we are just about to embark on a new kitchen project remake at home and I just loved this colour combination. Inspiration really is all around you.

• Original acrylic painting with black oil pen for the outlines.
• Frame is a white 19mm 'revival style. 42mm rebate moulding. Subtle grain pattern
