There is a fabulous historical beauty to them and they are such an escape from the mainland. Having visited one and experiencing the remoteness and beauty, I have been compelled to paint these forts in my unique style and make them feel as if you are there even though the sometimes treacherous water can separate us from these idyllic paradise islands.
